DECISION HAND

                The product of a PHILIPS workshop, the DECISION HAND was the conceptual answer to “How can AI drive better day to day decision making”. Based on research, definitions and deductions summarised in an extensive research paper, the DECISION HAND explores the themes of AI-human relationships.

        The continual challenge of ideas is a driving force behind creating new and better knowledge, the foundation for good decisions. However, social interactions and disputes are shifting increasingly to online spaces. As a result of this, empathy, respect and other social behaviours get left behind. In many cases this leads to a lack of responsibility felt by all parties to provide valid and strong arguments, diluting the significance of the outcome.

        To facilitate constructive conflict, the DECISION HAND listens you voicing decisions you will act on before arguing with you about them. The need to justify and defend these decisions allows you to reflect on them, either strengthening your resolve or leading you down alternative paths. Its physical presence as a human hand also induces a feeling of greater responsibility towards the AI, in turn heightening the quality of the outcome.
